There are plenty of paid for softwares out there, I hope to be looking at Bluebeam soon to makes things a bit more streamlined. Your mileage may vary depending on your situation so I would suggest you spend some time and see what they can do for you.
I have a little workflow going using these free programs to get what we require, yeah it could be simpler but it's what we have at the moment. I use pdf sam to split and merge single or multiple sheet pdf's then as Dave suggested above, a bulk renaming utility if I need further file name changing. There is a paid version but I've never used it and am not aware of its features. Users can also merge multiple documents into one PDF. The free version of pdf creator is only a pdf printer and a pdf viewer. It allows you to instantly create PDFs with just a few clicks. View/sheet names will be appended to the specified name' AFAIK pdf creator does not have the ability to append naming. And what does it do with bookmarks?Sheet - A100 - Floor Plan.pdf << This naming convention comes from Revit not the PDF printer, you can see in the Revit print dialogue where you choose 'Create separate files.
Cheers, does PDF creator only save the sheet number and name as individual PDF's? So no prefix naming. As PDF printing relies on a combination of Windows printer drivers (when printing from Windows applications), Ghostscript and a PDF viewer to deliver its output.
